What a different world here.
Just a good 1 1/2 hours walk from my place near the Dalhousie University downtown Halifax i came into this Jollymore called suburb of greater Halifax near (or actually surrounded by) a park of full green nature, more or less wilderness in the city, with small lakes, ducks and the like.
The enchanted forest as they call it (but then again, Halifaxians have a faible for fantasy names) really is a typical Pisces town retreat, dead appearing yet in full bloom, houses in wide lush gardens under age old trees of all sorts, only that the houses are old, only that the entire forest feels and looks like time stands still - but not evolution and the impact weather and other environmental effects have on houses.
Houses inside a urban jungle of green trees and bushes are dark inside yet, because of minimal road traffic it is peaceful and contemplative - yet, being to contemplative means leaving the daily realities behind

It's always spring on the Canary islands, and if the photos don't tell about it (taken 26. February 07)you should hear the birds, not for nothing these Islands are called after the Canary bird. |
