All that jazz is not played on instruments on this volcanic island, no need, there are so many birds singing from dusk to dawn (or vice versa) and then, of course, the colors, the colors, and the compositions of this freely and only partially cared for or controlled vegetation in endless varieties, from needle trees to big fat old palms, from delicate wild roses to cactus of all sorts, one could almost think this must be heaven here - but it ain't, of course, nature has it's own rules, and living a bit to natural (they call it rural here) does not do much for longevity and great health on a windy island, the houses built here may look romantic to some, but the windows are badly sealed against high winds, the doors are mostly not sealed against much at all, and, of course, as one could expect on an island that lies off the African Coast but belongs to a European nation that is some 3 airplane hours away there are endless items people here never get that are part of the daily basics for mainland commoners anywhere in the world.
It's a bit like living somewhere in Siberia, just without any risk of a big freeze.

But i want to mainly present photographic impressions here, and i sure choose the nicest images i can make, see for yourself at my new photo album from La Palma

1 day impressions from my daily walk from home in Velhoco to the indoor swimming pool in San Pedro.
It's always spring on the Canary islands, and if the photos don't tell about it (taken 26. February 07)you should hear the birds, not for nothing these Islands are called after the Canary bird.
