Impressions of a global citizen (Rudolf Megert - artist, webdesigner, scientific astrologer)

My astrological knowledge tells me when a place of living is good and when not, in short where it is the right time at the right place for me.

This way i have been able to see a good portion of this world without getting myself into any miserable situations and the world still holds interesting places i will visit and report on with verbal expressions as well as photos.
Technorati Profile

Las Vegas, Spring (spring??? it's already 90° F here) 2008

Ever wondered what the word desert means???
In Las Vegas you could probably ignore it, as long as you just float around the indoors of the Hotel Casinos along the famous Las Vegas Blvd. Strip, but else i can only tell you that it gets hot here - while the locals just call this warm (the 90° Fahrenheit).

Glad my place has air conditioning too.

Las Vegas from the point of view of a non gambler;
sure, none of these irrational people you would come across in Florida, here almost everybody manages to be polite and trying to apply harmony, but somewhere in the news or gossip on the street you still here of murders and the usual crime you find in any US city, only that it is nowhere where i am for a positive change.

The call this city Sin City - haha, just because a girl that gets paid to fluff a bit around in "underwear" in front of some male, just because the tease in dark places is the big business here, it is a laughing joke compared to what we Europeans see in our cities, so bet...

A Painting by Rudolf Megert in Panama City Beach, Florida, Oct. / Nov. 2007

Well, who would have thought i would ever again touch some brushes and open some paint tubes and actually get physically creative in real life again, but thanks to Cindy, the "semi-Muse" (so to speak) who asked for it and made sure i had all the equipment i need it did happen.

Painting is done in Acrylics, i used my classical base, a piece of brown packaging paper to paint on as this sort of strong paper always seemed the ideal ground to hold especially acrylic paint, with the downside that the paper gets rather wavy due to the water contents in acrylics (which can easily be seen on these photos taken immediately after the painting was finished as well as during the creation of

Panama City Beach once more, Oct. / Nov. 2007

     Hola Senores,
not that i have learned any Spanish of late, but this greeting sounds so much nicer then the American Hi.

Anyway, just here for a quick bedtime story from the real life beach time i am having here:

Today a big braunish thing floating where i usually go for my ocean water massage.
I went as close as i thought is safe but could not determine what it was, but was almost certain it was a living thing, about the size of a large stingray in diameter, but was floating right on the surface and had a bullseye right in the middle of it's body.
First i thought i leave it alone, but because it kept on floating around me and i got tired of watching out for it, especially against the sunlight, i decided to go on shore and grab that strange thing that has been laying around for weeks now, something that looked like a sail to a surf board or so, and went with it out there again to try and have a closer look while able to protect myself.
It turned out to be a huge jelly fish, nev...

Halifax Jollymore

What a different world here.
Just a good 1 1/2 hours walk from my place near the Dalhousie University downtown Halifax i came into this Jollymore called suburb of greater Halifax near (or actually surrounded by) a park of full green nature, more or less wilderness in the city, with small lakes, ducks and the like.
The enchanted forest as they call it (but then again, Halifaxians have a faible for fantasy names) really is a typical Pisces town retreat, dead appearing yet in full bloom, houses in wide lush gardens under age old trees of all sorts, only that the houses are old, only that the entire forest feels and looks like time stands still - but not evolution and the impact weather and other environmental effects have on houses.

Houses inside a urban jungle of green trees and bushes are dark inside yet, because of minimal road traffic it is peaceful and contemplative - yet, being to contemplative means leaving the daily realities behind
Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada 2007

I keep on wondering why i came here and why i didn't just move on real quick, maybe i should have......

This city on the Atlantic Coast looks like it's still 1920, old houses everwhere, sloppy care taking of everything, fog in the middle on June, need to heat my apartment in the middle of June, it's also rather expensive here, not to much to be exited about, even the swimming is no longer a daily learning, more of a daily "hang in there" exercise, lack of energy, lack of focus, just to superficial and kind of unhealthy and depressing, except on sunny days, but those are far and few in between - while they have heatwaves elsewhere in Canada...........
Only the people seem relatively friendly and communicative, that's a good thing for me this year.
